HackMD split into an enterprise and a community version, with the latter evolving into Coding MD, and eventually HedgeDoc. Among HedgeDoc’s FAQs, one common question is whether multiple instances can run on the same database. Unfortunately, the answer is no, as HedgeDoc instances need dedicated space to prevent conflicts and data loss. For high availability, it’s best to ensure one instance is always active to reduce downtime.
